We are headed to Muzaffarnagar and Bijnor for our demonstrations for the day where a lovely paddy field was waiting for us. UP is home to a lot of paddy being sown and grown during the Kharif season and we have reached here right on time when the field are lush green and glowing.We started our first demonstration in Muzaffarnagar where we went through the briefing, demonstration and then the Q&A. A very interesting question we encountered was if drones would change the yield in comparison to other conventional methods of spraying. The answer is yes, the pest control through drones is much more effective, making the loss of crop less and hence the yield automatically witnesses a rise.After this we moved on to our next demo location, Bijnor. What a long journey it has been till date. It is not over yet, but it has been a remarkable one. We are in Uttar Pradesh, our 7th state in the Yatra till now. We have come more than halfway into our Drone Yatra which started in Maharashtra and covered Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and now in Uttar Pradesh.Welcome to Day 1 in Uttar Pradesh. We are on our way to Saharanpur where our first demonstration of the day is scheduled in the village of Sundar Hedi. A beautiful paddy farm was waiting for us eagerly to be sprayed on by a drone for the first time. Welcome to Day 4 in Haryana of the Syngenta Drone Yatra. We are on our way to Karnal and Indri today followed by Yamunanagar where we will be ending our Haryana leg of the journey and move on to Uttar Pradesh (UP). It has been a long journey for us till now, starting from Maharashtra and moving towards Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and now Haryana. We are pretty close to the halfway mark of our journey.Our aim was to cover 10,000 kms in this Drone Yatra, but looking at the current numbers, it seems like we are more than halfway done to this. We set out for our Drone Yatra from Maharashtra in the peak of monsoon. We did face our set of challenges, but never did we encounter any issues in terms of demonstrations. We are ever so thankful to the rain gods for allowing us the windows of opportunities at the right time to conduct our demonstration. Now in Haryana, we are past the monsoon season and it was all happy sunshine for us throughout, or so we thought.We did not consider the receding rainfall or some random spells of rains that happen at times might cause any issues to us. Our Syngenta Drone Yatra has received such great response from farmers everywhere, their excitement and energy has kept us going. We have completed 30 days of demonstrations today with many more exciting days to go. We are in Haryana, covering Kaithal and Narwana for our demonstrations of the day. We have noticed that a lot of government officials have started getting involved in our Drone Yatra and are making it a point to attend events in their regions. Today was no different. The journey has been long, but we have made it here. Traversing through Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, and now we are here, in Haryana. The welcome was also something worthy to talk about. But, we will get there when we do. For now, a quick introduction.Haryana is one of the major agricultural states for India in terms of food grains, cotton and sugarcane production. They contribute a major chunk to the overall produce. They are a forward state in terms of adopting technology since there is a substantial number of large holding growers. So definitely we were all very excited to be there.Welcome to Day 1 in Haryana. Our destinations for the day were Pehowa and Cheeka. We reached our first location in Pehowa where we encountered a humongous crowd and a lot of dignitaries. Throughout our journey till now, we have faced a lot of tough situations at times where we thought maybe today we might fail to provide a demonstration to the farmers. We never want to disappoint them at any cost since they have taken important time out of their work to be at the demonstrations. After all, it is for the farmers. When it comes to conducting events on the field, nature’s moods are something we have to always contend with. When we began our journey, we were in the thick of monsoon and had to bear with a lot of rains which threatened our demonstrations from time to time. Luckily, they did stay away when needed and we managed to never miss any demos.Now, in Punjab, we had a different mood to contend with, heat. Our Drone Yatra has made it to Punjab, to wow the farmers in the region with our Drone Spray technology. Punjab is an important state for India for multiple reasons. Not only is it a major agriculture state, it also borders with Pakistan. Other than that, Punjab is also famous for being home to Sikhism, a religion in India, majority farmers in Punjab are Sikhs. They can be recognized from their turbans which is one of their signature marks.Punjab was a challenge for us, since being close to an international border, the army controls a substantial part of the state. Owing to this, flying drones required special permissions from them which we had managed beforehand, thanks to our local team.
