Day 33: Saharanpur – Spraying Sweet Canes with our Sweet Drone
What a long journey it has been till date. It is not over yet, but it has been a remarkable one. We are in Uttar Pradesh, our 7th state in the Yatra till now. We have come more than halfway into our Drone Yatra which started in Maharashtra and covered Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and now in Uttar Pradesh.
Welcome to Day 1 in Uttar Pradesh. We are on our way to Saharanpur where our first demonstration of the day is scheduled in the village of Sundar Hedi. A beautiful paddy farm was waiting for us eagerly to be sprayed on by a drone for the first time. The farmers were equally excited too to watch a drone fly in their farms for the first time ever.
We set up quickly and ran through our process of a briefing and then the demonstration, followed by a Q&A session. The farmers were definitely curious to understand how the drone is able to spray the entire field in only 10 liters of water when the conventional spray would consume over 200 liters. We explained them the way the drone would work, and even gave them a demonstration of the spray on how minute the droplet particles are.
We then packed up and moved to our next location Pahansu in Sahranpur. We reached a nice sugarcane field which was the first ever sugarcane field being sprayed by a drone in UP. We did the briefing, demo and Q&A where a farmer asked an interesting question, if 10 liters of water will be enough for sugarcane since its size varies in comparison to other crops. This was an interesting question which we managed to tackle and closed for the day
