The precise and regulated application of irrigation water and plant nutrients in the root zone of the plant helps to increase production and productivity. Drip irrigation also saves water and helps to control weed growth. Through reputed NGO partners, we support 650 farmers in Maharashtra with drip irrigation systems covering approximately 1000 acres of land. About 75% of the costs are mobilized under government subsidies and farmers’ contributions. We support by financing 25 % of the cost and are identifying partners to train farmers to use the drip irrigation systems in the right way.
