The Syngenta APAC and Global Awards recognize, celebrate and share the outstanding achievements of teams and individuals - for projects that exemplify our purpose and values in action. Syngenta India was a Global Award Winner a few years ago and a significant number of entries is made every year and invariably two or more stories are nominated for regional finalists award year after year. |

Syngenta rolled out two global initiatives in 2008 (“Brand ”&“ one Syngenta”) and India was in the forefront of these initiatives. We have refreshed our corporate brand and are now embarking on a journey to build, strengthen and protect our brand as we capitalize on our market and business opportunities. This initiative also spanned Syngenta employees and the Brand roll out successfully covered our employees at various locations in India, deepening and broadening their awareness and knowledge of Syngenta operations. |

Despite financial crisis and volatile & uncertain times the world over, business for us in India this year has been very encouraging with excellent growth in CP, Seeds, manufacturing exports and research services. In growing recognition of the Indian contribution to Syngenta globally, we are seeing expansion activities in both manufacturing and research in Goa, as well as introduction of several new products and initiatives in both CP & Seeds. |

We had many notable achievements during 2008, viz., the Analytical facility at the R&T Centre getting Swiss GLP Accreditation within just a year after start-up enabling it to become a part of the Global GLP Analytical resource for Syngenta, completion of 3 million man-hours without Lost Time Accident in Goa manufacturing, CP winning the Frost & Sullivan Competitive Strategy Leadership Award….to name just a few. |

As the business continues to expand, with a view to maintain high standards in all our operations and drive the innovation which is at the heart of Syngenta’s performance, in 2008, we have strengthened our manpower by adding more than 120 new recruits across businesses. |

In pursuit of our efforts in liberating potential of our employees and striving for excellence, we have accelerated our Learning & Development initiatives in imparting knowledge on Syngenta culture, Code of Conduct, Performance Management and enhancing skills on Leadership, Strategy, Change Management, Catalyst training , besides developing core functional expertise. |
