Syngenta’s Research and Development facilities are located in Stein, Switzerland, Jealott’s Hill, the UK and Goa, India in the domain of Crop Protection and in North Carolina, USA and Beijing, China and Singapore in the Domain of Seeds and Biotechnology. Apart from these, there are field stations and breeding facilities worldwide. Syngenta’s strategy is “growth through Innovation”. Thus their activities play a crucial role in the growth of Syngenta. The depth of experience and knowledge of our people firmly position us as a leader in providing innovative solutions to growers. Our R & D is market led, creating value to our stakeholders. An important aspect of our R&D strategy is the creation of world-class teams of scientists that work in state-of-the-art research and development facilities across the globe, closely networking and sharing expertise with each other and within teams across geographies and across Syngenta Businesses. The setting up of the Goa, India facility is a consequence of this strategy. |

Syngenta's Crop Protection Research and Development strives to provide new crop protection products, which are high performing with low environmental impact and help growers to realize increased yields.
The Syngenta Research & Technology Centre, Goa, was commissioned in the middle of 2006 and was inaugurated on 30th November 2006. It aspires to be a center of excellence for organic chemical synthesis and analytical chemistry.
The facility has a modern, attractive look, with open areas giving a feeling of space, and making the best use of natural light, whilst blending in and being sympathetic to the surroundings. The building houses the offices, synthesis laboratories, a kilo lab, analytical laboratories, a hydrogenation laboratory, a small library, a training hall, a cafeteria, etc. A multi purpose hall for lectures and seminars and a comprehensive kitchen are being added. Safely, health and ecology have been given prime importance while designing the facility.
Since its inception all the labs are fully up to speed. While the Kilolab has delivered more than 60 projects the Research Chemistry groups are working on 8 projects. The Technology and Projects (T&P) Synthesis Support and Analytical Groups have delivered several projects till date.
The T&P analytical facility received Swiss GLP accreditation recently, within just a year after start up, enabling it to become part of the global GLP Analytical resource for Syngenta. |

| Today the centre already has about 85 scientists working on various projects that Syngenta is running across its research and development facilities world over. They have access to technologies and human resource expertise, across the globe. |
